"Why do we do what we do?"
The mission of Brain Awareness Week Montreal is to increase public awareness and interest in brain research through a variety of programs for people of all ages. These programs aim to:
- Inspire school-aged children to learn more about the brain by introducing them to simple concepts about the brain through fun and interactive workshops, competitions and open houses.
- Educate the public about the brain and stimulate interest in current brain research by hosting free Neuroscience Cafes.
- Keep the public updated on our events and current research discoveries in neuroscience by maintaining a website, a BrainBlog as well as social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.
Most of these events are held during the third week of March, coinciding with Global Brain Awareness Week, an initiative started by the Dana Alliance Foundation in 1996.
